Broadcast Sciences can provide complete engineering assessment on the facility. We will inspect the facility and prepare a detailed report that will help you make a more educated decision. We will ascertain the condition of all critical pieces of equipment, both at the studio and transmitter site, and provide an estimate as to the remaining life expectancy, short-term repair costs, and future replacement cost of each. We will review all of the stations FCC and FAA authorizations to verify that all are valid and accurate as part of the compliance review.

When armed with a thorough and objective report of the condition of the facility, you will be in a much better position to negotiate, particularly if serious problems are found. Likewise, by knowing the expected equipment repair or replacement costs for the foreseeable future, you can plan accordingly, including budgeting and obtain financing as necessary, prior to completing the sale.

Considering selling a station?

Are all of your station authorizations correct? Is that auxiliary antenna properly licensed? Are your STL licenses accurate? What's missing from your public file? Is the transmitter on its last leg, or does it still have some life left in it? Is hoping to get another two years out of that thirty-year-old antenna realistic?

An engineering assessment can help answer these sorts of questions and ensure that the station is in a suitable condition for sale. By finding and fixing (or at least disclosing) problems, last-minute deal breakers can be avoided. Likewise, by identifying these sorts problems well in advance of the sale, the costs associated with rectifying such shortcomings can be better managed.
